Inspiring Others

I recently came across a quote from a friend, "Success isn't just about what you accomplish in your life, it's about what you inspire others to do." I feel like this quote what written for me! I have always considered myself a successful person but with my new passion for group fitness, it has become about more than ME. I have friends that are in awe of the feats I have accomplished from finishing the Ironman to maintaining a busy family calendar. To inspire others puts the prize in the faces of my friends and fellow athletes.

My teaching schedule has changed a lot lately. I now teach 3 classes of triathlon to adults and 2 classes of triathlon to kids each week. Then I work 2-4 more times teaching Spinning classes each month. I put in extra time to personalize my music playlists and workouts based on the schedule and desires of the athletes that are in my classes. I'm having a blast! The more time I spend at the gym, the more I think my future may be in a management position, while still teaching of course.

With my position as a coach, I've started to feel pressure to perform. I still have the deep desire for competition but I feel compelled to finish strong and fast. This feeling is restricting my abilities to train hard, including my diet. I hope to find the strength and perseverance to prioritize my fitness/racing goals in the coming months. In all that I love about teaching, I still need to focus on my health!
